Via Margutta's Christmas 2023 lights up with history and nativity scenes

The names of leading figures in the visual arts, music, literature and cinema who have lived and worked in Via Margutta come alive in the Christmas illuminations of "The Stars of Via Margutta" project.

Christmas is coming and, as if by magic, cities are illuminated with a thousand lights, the charm of Rome and especially that of Via Margutta will become unique, exclusive and enchanting with the Christmas illuminations 2023.

The street of artists, art galleries, artisan workshops, but also of new entrepreneurial and creative proposals related to the world of hotellerie, food, design and fashion, with the exclusive and artistic light installation entitled "THE STARS OF VIA MARGUTTA" is confirmed more and more, to be the most internationally known street of Roman creativity.

Anyone, citizens and tourists alike, will surely be fascinated and focused to read the fifty names of the various artists, poets, writers and musicians and film personalities who have lived and worked in Via Margutta over the various centuries.

Picasso, Guttuso, De Chirico, D'Annunzio, Moravia, Sartre, Puccini, Mascagni, Wagner, Fellini, Magnani, H. Hepburn and G. Peck and so many other beautiful souls who have populated this unique and unparalleled street will be revived in the three-meter signs made of gold-colored neon tubes placed along the entire length of Via Margutta, embellished and decorated with bright Christmas stars.

The project conceived, designed and implemented by the Board of Directors of the International Association of Via Margutta, composed ofPresident Alberto Moncada, Grazia Marino, Lawyer Pierluigi Mancuso, Tina Vannini, Laura Pepe, Fabrizio Russo and Hayley Nielsen, has scheduled on December6 at 5.00 c/o Il Margutta Vegetarian Food & Vegan - ViaMargutta, 118 the press conference and exclusive lighting ceremony, which will be attended by the main Capitoline institutions, residents, referents of the various commercial activities of the street and citizens all.

"It will be a thrill and a discovery for many, Romans and tourists alike, to know that the fifty names identified for Christmas 2023, are only a small part of the beautiful personalities that have populated this unique and unparalleled street," declares Alberto Moncada, President of the Via Margutta International Association.The project, which spans the entire Via Margutta promenade and its adjoining streets: Via Alibert, Vicolo dell'Orto di Napoli and Vicolo del Babuino, foresees in fact for the coming years the inclusion of all the other prestigious names that have made famousVia Margutta in the world."

Not only lights on Via Margutta this year but also the installation of two historic nativity scenes, placed the first near theFontana degli Artisti, the other adjacent to FedericoFellini's famous residence.

A unique project that was able to materialize thanks to the collaboration established with Giuseppe Passeri and Eva Maria Antulov, artists of exclusive fame, known for being for years the authors of the Artistic Nativity Scene of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican.

In the two nativities it is possible to observe the close look at the daily life of the protagonists. The characters on display are about 40 cm. in height. - head, hands and feet are made of terra cotta and hand-painted, the clothes, are made of pure silk from India, hand-sewn with fine fabrics and partly golden trimmings from various parts of the world.

A realistic style that allowed the authors to express not only the art in creating the individual scenes with flair, imagination and color, but also to narrate the symbolism present in each part of the nativity scene.

Iginio Massari, the greatest Italian Master Pastry Chef in the world, who with his philosophy and passion has the merit of having elevated Italian pastry culture to its highest expression. Iginio Massari will be present at "The Stars of Via Margutta" project with one of his most famous Haute Pastry creations the "Panettone" signed by Massari. The king of leavened products is haute patisserie, pure Italian craftsmanship in which harmony, tradition and innovation are reflected.

The toast on Via Margutta, with the Merlettaie Brut varietyPecorino - Bio Vegan, will be by Ciù Ciù Tenimenti Bartolomei, a leading group of wineries in the market among wine producers, which boasts the presence of five wineries counted among the leading Italian wineries.Tradition and innovation, together with the conviction that wine production should be the most authentic expression of the territory, give rise to a wide range of wines: from the indigenous grape varieties of Marche Passerina and Pecorino, Abruzzo Trebbiano and Montepulciano, Tuscany Sangiovese and Lazio Cesanese, to Sicily Grillo and Nero D'Avola.
